Weird Blogs
A lot of these blogs I randomly access when I click on "next blog" and continue seem to be ranging toward porn. (??)

Home Sick
This is the first time I've actually stayed home from work the day I felt sick. Usually I "tough it out" for awhile to see if it's "serious." The result of the toughing-it-out policy is that one feels substandard for a long time--never really getting well.
This time, I'm feeling better after missing Friday, Monday, and today (Tuesday). Just 3 days off (plus add 2 weekend days) from work has allowed the body to focus on fighting off the virus--instead of dividing its resources between working full time and fighting off the virus.
Much more efficient job--I feel so much better and attribute it to rest and drinking lots of liquids. "Rest" being the key ingredient that I formerly shorted myself on when sick out of my old "WASP" work ethic.
Now I think that trying to never be absent is being pennywise and pound foolish. I should think of my health in the long term--all these super-efforts to go to work slightly under the weather (especially as I get older) will conspire to weaken me over time and it will be harder and harder to catch up to wellness and fitness.
If I want to work throughout my life, I need to accommodate myself and rest appropriately when I need to fight a virus or heal in any other way.
It may mean the difference between having to retire (from exhaustion) or being able to manage a long, long working career!

Mom
Visited Mom today and she wore a bright red sweater she's had for a long time, and a red christmas ribbon in her grey hair. Dressed up for the communal dinner in her independent living apartments.

Payroll Delayed
Can you believe the school district did not have our direct deposits done on time?
Incredible. Hope it is not a "sign" of "something."
This has not happened in my 10 years with the district.

The lawyer
So the lawyer representing our school spent a day with us interviewing the staff of my program about a lawsuit in which we're named. We're looking good!
Poulsbo
Dan and I drove to Poulsbo, and spent the afternoon walking around. Same old same old - lots of stores/shops selling stuff. Water and marina were sparkling and beautiful, however. Did not need to go so far to see a beautiful day.

Fundingsland
Last evening Maril and Paul Fundingsland had us over as their first (non-family) guests in their new house in Olympia. Built in the late 60s, it is reminiscent of our house. So glad they're back after that little (35 years!) hiatus in Grand Forks.
Submit to writing down passwords
So, finally, I agree that I must write down the passwords to my various web activities.

Asters
Bought a galleon pot of blue asters to plant. They'll come back every year and won't need special care. For indoors, a spider plant. One of NASA's top 3 for air purification.

Just Beginning
I'm taking advantage of google's blogging option to get my feet wet. Spent $60 today at Borders for technical books on web design and microsoft office 2003 - which I will read. This is an easy way to try it out painlessly.
